Goodness it has been so long since I have provided an update. Where to begin, the date of my being in DC a year is quickly approaching and let me tell you it was one of the hardest most amazing years of my life. I moved to a strange city cried nightly for about 2 months and then found a place to live and a home. I recently moved off the hill and to a new job with the American College of Cardiology. (lets not even talk about how freaking excited my dad was) Within my first week of starting at the college I was whisked off to our annual meeting in New Orleans (tough break right?) The meeting was amazing I got to see a city I have never been to before and learn so much with work. I am going on Two month with the college and enjoying everyday. My commute to work got a little longer but that is OK, I still enjoy living on the hill. Summer and the heat is coming which I am not excited about at all. Thats all I have for now. I hope everyone is doing well.

23 and in DC

Today is January 13th 2011. 23 years ago today my mom had Dr. French home in time for dinner as she puts it. The year of 22 was an amazing on for me. I graduated College and moved to Dc to start a new life. There were many wonderful things sprinkled in between, like senior week with my chi o sisters, seeing my niece turn one and my other one turn five, seeing family and where i come from. Traveling learning about myself and growing. In recent events I would like for everyone to take today and pray for those families who lost a loved one and for those who have one fighting for life. Make that the reason today is a special day. I love and miss you all.

Ok, so I know I haven't posted in a while. Things have gotten a little busy here in DC. I recently moved into my new place, which I am so excited about! My roommate is in that awful in between stage but I promise to post pictures of the finished product soon. In other news my mom comes to visit and help me get settled in this Sunday which I am super excited about. The weather here has been interesting it rains about two or three times a week which I am totally not used to. Oh and I don't own an umbrella. :( that's it for now but pictures to come soon!

Another Update

I HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you all are as excited as I am about this news. I will be moving in September 1st. Which means I will be living at my cousin's until then. Again Louie has been a huge help to me. The place I will be living in is on the senate side right on Maryland ave adjacent to the supreme court. With any luck I will get a job a senate with a senator and be wonderfully close to work.

Adeventures!!

This week Katie and I had a whole itinerary of things to do before she went back to Az next weekend. These included but weren't limited to going to the museums, the monuments and shopping. Friday after work we got some milkshakes and walked down to the monuments. It was disgustingly hot but fun none the less. The monuments are best at night in my opinion. There is something special about them at night. The next day we went to the American history museum which was interesting. Then we headed to the national gallery of art. We saw pictures from Cezanne, Van Gogh and much more! I loved it. Above are some picture from the adventures. Once again I apologize for the quality but I finally found and charged my camera battery so all photos will be from that from now on!

Georgetown Adventures!

Today Katie (also an intern) and I went down to Georgetown. We took the circulator which is a dollar and a total steal (he he). We walked around mostly and saw some really great shops. We attempted to go to Georgetown cupcakes but the line was literally two blocks long, and it was desperately hot out so there was no way we were waiting in that line. Another friend of ours mentioned another cupcake spot and let me tell you these were amazing! The cupcakes were so good I had a Texas sheet cake flavor(they were out of red velvet for the day) and Katie had a peach almond! Then we wandered around some more they have a Zara in Georgetown so I think I shall be venturing there often. Above are some of the pictures I took. Sorry for the quality but I didn't charge my camera battery. :(
