I HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you all are as excited as I am about this news. I will be moving in September 1st. Which means I will be living at my cousin's until then. Again Louie has been a huge help to me. The place I will be living in is on the senate side right on Maryland ave adjacent to the supreme court. With any luck I will get a job a senate with a senator and be wonderfully close to work.

Adeventures!!

This week Katie and I had a whole itinerary of things to do before she went back to Az next weekend. These included but weren't limited to going to the museums, the monuments and shopping. Friday after work we got some milkshakes and walked down to the monuments. It was disgustingly hot but fun none the less. The monuments are best at night in my opinion. There is something special about them at night. The next day we went to the American history museum which was interesting. Then we headed to the national gallery of art. We saw pictures from Cezanne, Van Gogh and much more! I loved it. Above are some picture from the adventures. Once again I apologize for the quality but I finally found and charged my camera battery so all photos will be from that from now on!

Georgetown Adventures!

Today Katie (also an intern) and I went down to Georgetown. We took the circulator which is a dollar and a total steal (he he). We walked around mostly and saw some really great shops. We attempted to go to Georgetown cupcakes but the line was literally two blocks long, and it was desperately hot out so there was no way we were waiting in that line. Another friend of ours mentioned another cupcake spot and let me tell you these were amazing! The cupcakes were so good I had a Texas sheet cake flavor(they were out of red velvet for the day) and Katie had a peach almond! Then we wandered around some more they have a Zara in Georgetown so I think I shall be venturing there often. Above are some of the pictures I took. Sorry for the quality but I didn't charge my camera battery. :(

Just a Quick Update

So I just wanted to give you all a quick update on the happenings. Life is still pretty crazy and unsettled here in D.C. for me. My cousin has been a huge help in trying to find me a place to live. I have looked at 2 places so far and I am looking at 4 more over the next couple of days. So fingers crossed that something works out. Work is going great! They only have me working 3 days a week right now because we have about 6 interns right now, so the office gets a little crowded. But if I don't find any where to live I may just move into the Capitol center, they have everything in these buildings. A gym, hair salons, Pharmacies and even little markets. You would never have to see the light of day again if you were a representative! it's crazy!
There are definitely more people here than I am used to so getting bumped and tripped over all the time is a new experience. Everything is so much smaller here as well. I expected that but, sometimes it gets a little tiresome when you can't seem to get away from everyone, someone is always close by. Then again I asked for this and it's all an adjustment in the end, right? Well till next time. Some of the other interns and I are headed to Georgetown this weekend so pictures to come!

Fast forward to this weekend. The week was crazy and fun Katie and I walk to and from work together so that's nice. I still have no place to live which isn't so nice. My cousin has been nice enough to let me stay at his place till I find a home here. Friday was a hard day because I found out I didn't get an apartment that I was so looking forward to. I felt really defeated and lost. Saturday though began to look up. Katie and I headed down to eastern market which is like one giant farmers market. I bought some fresh blackberries and strawberries and the are AMAZING. I have never had such delicious blackberries they are huge and sweet mmmmmm. I also picked up some amazing prosciutto and creme fraiche also delicious. They have everything at the market there was a lady with vintage purses and the most beautiful jewelry and hats. I will definitly be frequenting the market. If I could I would just move in there. Sunday was also a great day I got some laundry done then I wandered around the neighborhood looking for a place to live hopefully I will find something soon! Then I had a marathon Harry Potter movie day, which was worth it. I don't work tomorrow so I will be following up on some leads for housing and figuring somethings out!
Tuesday! my first day of work! It was super exciting and fun and oh ya I got yelled at by my boss.(way to go me, NOT). On the upside though I met some really cool people so that I no longer feel all alone in this huge city. One of the other interns name is Katie and we hit it off. She is really cool and we go on adventures throughout the building tunnels together! there is so much to see and learn its amazing! I love walking in the tunnels and doing my job! its pretty cool to have an idea card that gets you in random places as well :)

Monday the 5th. Today I went to look at my apartment and needless to say it was awful! The place looked like a frat house! I almost broke down in tears right there, lucky I held it together until I got out of there and called my parents then I lost it. Things were not looking good so I went shopping of course! I needed shoes for work in the morning so I headed to the mall to re-group. above are the shoes I bought for work thoughts?

Sunday the 4th I decided to go exploring. I hopped on the metro and headed to Chinatown(mostly to go see eclipse). I found the theater easily and watched the movie with ease. Then I decided to go to the grocery store to get food for the work week.(bad idea) So I preceded to get lost in Chinatown, after walking around for about 30 mins lost I randomly stumbled into a Safeway(woo). I picked up some food and headed home to rest before the fireworks. Around 9pm I headed to the Capitol building and found a nice spot for viewing and took in the site of watching the fireworks. They were amazing. I have never seen fireworks that big in my life they filled the sky!

Washington DC I have arrived!

So on July 3rd I moved from Cornville Arizona to the big ol' city of Washington DC. I moved to hopefully start a great new adventure in my life. For the interm I will be interning for a Representative in Congress which is pretty exciting in itself. I arrived in DC around 12am on Saturday to my cousin's empty house and a fierce amount of humidity. (hauling my 40lbs bags up the stairs was not fun) I quickly got settled in and went to bed to wake to the 4th of July in the nations capitol the next day.
